The United States and Italy men's national teams claimed the top seeds at the IFAF Flag Football World Championship in Ottawa, Ontario going undefeated in their group play. Mexico and Canada in the women's division also remained undefeated earning number one ranking.
After the first day of the 2010 IFAF World Flag Championships, six teams remain undefeated. In the men's tournament, Italy (2-0) leads Group A, while in group B Denmark (3-0) and USA (2-0) have the advantage after the opening day of the IFAF Flag Football World Championship. In the women's category, 2008 defending champions Mexico (2-0) and Austria (2-0) are on top in Group A as Canada (2-0) is the only undefeated team in Group B.

The world's best female and male flag football players will converge on Ottawa, the capital city of Canada, from August 11 to August 15 for the fifth biannual International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Flag Football World Championship.

Football Canada is proud to once again host the World Senior Men's and Women's Senior Flag Football Championships. The 5th edition of the IFAF World Flag Championships will be held in Ottawa this summer between August 11 and 15. 2010 marks the second time in World Flag Football Championships history that the event is to be held in Canada (the first being Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Quebec in 2008).
